Sean é historiador da América do Norte, especializado em economia política urbana e história social da classe trabalhadora. Seu doutorado na Universidade Queen’s – em Kingston, Ontário, Canadá – é uma história oral e social de um grande conjunto habitacional de Toronto, Regent Park, e seus moradores. Publicou vários artigos em inglês sobre Regent Park em revistas acadêmicas no Canadá, Estados Unidos e Inglaterra. Em fevereiro de 2007, sairam três artigos dele na revista popular, História Viva. Agora está fazendo pesquisas comparadas sobre slums, guetos e favelas no Canadá, Estados Unidos e Brasil. Aguarde mais notícias sobre seu novo projeto de pesquisa.

Na Universidade de São Paulo, dá aulas de História da América Independente I e II, História dos Estados Unidos e História Transnacional. Por favor, entre em contato se tiver interesse em fazer pós-graduação em história da América do Norte e a História da América Hispânica.
